WHAT:
The master-planned community of Valley West invites children of all ages to a pre-Halloween celebration at the community’s second annual “Carvin’ for a Cause” pumpkin carving contest to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Gallatin County.

Prior to the contest, participants may pick up their free pumpkin to take home, carve and decorate. They can then bring back their pumpkin for judging on the day of the contest. In addition, participants may enter the Carvin’ in a Crunch contest in which carving must be completed on the day of the event within a specified time limit.

Prizes will be awarded to the runner-up and winner for the following categories: Scariest Creation, Funniest Face, Most Montana, Cutest Carving, Best in Show and Carvin’ in a Crunch (same day carving contest).

Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic but Valley West will provide complimentary treats, refreshments and entertainment. Costumes are encouraged.

WHEN:
Registration & pumpkin pickup: 
Wednesday, Oct. 22 –Friday, Oct. 24; 1 – 4 p.m.
                          
Contest will be held Sunday, Oct. 26
1 - 1:30 p.m. registration for same-day carving
1:30 - 2:30 p.m. same-day carving
2 - 2:30 p.m. registration for pumpkins brought from home
2:30 - 4 p.m. let the judging begin

WHERE:
Registration & pumpkin pickup at the new Valley West sales office at
4204 Tilton Drive (corner of Kimble & Tilton), Bozeman, MT 59718

Competition and awards will be held at Valley West’s lakeside pavilion at Meyers Lake located at Clifden Drive and Perry Street

WHO:
Open to the general public; everyone is welcome to attend this family-friendly event.
