Streamline Bus Adds Stop in Valley West Community

BOZEMAN, Mont. (October 8, 2007) —Bozeman’s award-winning community of Valley West has added another feature to its growing list of amenities. Starting August 27, 2007, Gallatin Valley’s fareless public bus service, Streamline, began service to Valley West. The new stop is conveniently located in the heart of the community at the intersection of Monroe and Hanley.

“This is a great addition to the community. Valley West residents now have the convenience of commuting to popular locales throughout the Gallatin Valley free of charge in a fast, safe manner,” explains Donald L. Meyers, president and CEO of The Aspen Group, the developer of Valley West. “With access to neighboring communities, schools, parks, shopping and more, this service is perfect for all of Valley West’s residents.”

Streamline’s service includes more than 50 stops including Big Sky Airport, Montana State University and Bridger Peaks Town Center. Streamline’s new bright yellow “bustle back” buses provide pick-up and drop-off service to Valley West at a quarter past the hour, every hour, from 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Valley West’s stop is serviced by Streamline’s “yellowline,” one of the bus system’s five color-coded routes running throughout the greater Bozeman area. All additional lines are easily usable from the yellowline via shared stops and/or transfer points.

“In addition to offering convenience, this system of transportation provides an ecologically beneficial travel option,” says Meyers. “Montana residents are known for being particularly conscious of their natural environment; utilizing the services provided by Streamline is one way everyone can help reduce air pollution and preserve the beauty of our community.”

Since its inception in 2006, Streamline has provided nearly 90,000 rides throughout the greater Bozeman area. Every bus is equipped with bike racks and wheel chair accessibility. Streamline bus schedules and routes can be viewed at StreamLineBus.com.
